Helena brings to our team a passion for New Zealand having spent a year on the road solo-travelling to every corner of the country. She is a German native speaker, who has loved New Zealand ever since stepping off the plane for the first time 18 years ago. She has lived in New Zealand permanently for over a decade and holds dual citizenship now, so can really call herself a Kiwi!
Helena has a fantastic ability with languages and wrote her (linguistics) thesis on Maori-English Codeswitching. In her sparetime Helena enjoys art, in particular painting, NZ has some very nice landscapes to paint and she has been taking weekly night classes for many years. Helena is always keen for a good road trip, especially if it includes a quiet beach, a mountain view, or great food on the way (she says food might very well be her favourite part of a holiday!)
